Star Wars’ Babu Frik has lived a full life & experienced lost love before appearing in The Rise of Skywalker, says voice actress Shirley Henderson.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker‘s fan-favorite character Babu Frik has apparently lived a full life before his appearance in the movie, including experiencing a tragic love story. As one of the few new players introduced in the J.J. Abrams’ directed movie, the public was quickly enamored with the adorable droidsmith who was instrumental in decoding the inscription in the Sith dagger.
An Anzelian who worked with Zori Bliss (Keri Russell), Babu was part of the Space Runners of Kijimi, which Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) was previously a member of. After helping Rey (Daisy Ridley) and the rest of her crew translate the message from the Sith dagger, Babu Frik later re-emerged in The Rise of Skywalker during the climactic aerial battle between the Resistance and the Last Order in Exegol. He and Zori then joined the rest of the heroes in celebrating their win on Ajan Kloss. Lucasfilm has yet to reveal what’s next for Babu Frik, but it sounds like he has some interesting backstory they could explore if they want to bring him back into the Star Wars forefront.
